Olympus Campus successfully conducted a free online G.C.E. Advanced Level ICT webinar on Tuesday, 4th August 2026, bringing together Information & Communication Technology students from across Sri Lanka for an intensive evening of exam-focused revision.
The two-and-a-half-hour session, held via Zoom from 8:00 PM to 10:30 PM, took the form of an A/L ICT Paper Discussion — a format designed to sharpen students' answering technique in the final stretch before the examination.
Expert Guidance from an Industry-Qualified Educator
The webinar was conducted by Mr. Lasantha Prasad (MBCS-UK / BIT, University of Colombo), who guided participants through a structured discussion of A/L ICT paper questions, breaking down how examiners frame questions and what a complete, mark-earning answer looks like.
Throughout the evening, students worked through:
- Question-by-question analysis of A/L ICT paper patterns
- Key concepts that appear repeatedly in the examination and how to present them precisely
- Common pitfalls that cost students marks — and how to avoid them
- Practical exam techniques for structuring answers and managing time under exam conditions
The paper discussion format proved especially popular, with students able to test their own answers against model approaches in real time and raise questions as the discussion progressed.
Strong Turnout Reflects Growing Demand
Held completely free of charge and open to all A/L ICT students regardless of school or institution, the webinar drew a strong island-wide turnout. The evening time slot allowed students to join from home after their regular study schedules, and participation remained high throughout the full session.
The event follows closely on the heels of Olympus Campus's free A/L Cartography seminar held the previous day, underscoring the institution's ongoing commitment to accessible, expert-led exam preparation for Sri Lankan students.
Gratitude and Best Wishes
Olympus Campus thanks Mr. Lasantha Prasad for dedicating his evening and expertise to helping students approach their ICT paper with clarity and confidence. We also extend our appreciation to every student who attended and contributed to a lively, productive discussion.
To all G.C.E. A/L candidates preparing for the ICT examination: revise steadily, practise past papers, and walk into the exam hall with confidence. We wish you every success.
